About Us

We are a "bunch" of friends, kids and moms, from San Antonio who love good food and love to hang out. We found a way to combine those elements with the San Antonio Lunch Bunch. Our first year we were on a mission to find the best burger in San Antonio. This year we are on the hunt for the best pizza in town. Stay tuned and see where our summer takes us.

Kennedy's Pizza

Yes... I am behind on my posts. The lunch bunch went to Kennedy's Chicago Pizza a few weeks ago.
Kennedy's is in an old Jim's location off 281 S. They have done a good job with making it NOT feel like you are getting a pizza from a Jim's. It is table service at Kennedy's and they do a great job with this. Our server was friendly and on the ball. She took great care of us.

We ordered a traditional pepperoni, a cheese, and a deep dish supreme. This place was a huge hit with everyone.... especially the deep dish pizza. The traditional crust was a hit too.

Kennedy's has the technique down for making a pie not only deep, but done. So many deep dish pizzas are crunchy on the bottom, but the rest of the dough is underdone. Not at Kennedy's. The dough is the perfect combination of crispy, thick and chewy. The toppings on the deep dish were great. The pizza sauce had great flavor. Kennedy's follows the traditional method with a deep dish by putting the sauce on the toppings, instead of under.

Kennedy's traditional pizzas were yummy. The crust had a nice crunch to the bottom, but was not quite as chewy as I would like. The toppings were good and were not skimped on. I liked how Kennedy's baked the pizza just a little longer than the average place. It made the cheese pizza even yummier.

The kids average rating was a 5. The moms' average rating was a 4.5. The combined average rating was a solid 4.5. Everyone said they would definitely like to go back to Kennedy's. High praise from this bunch!
